Madeline Wall.

Greetings! Thanks for being here.

I'm a Minneapolis-based theatre maker and May 2020 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I'm a director, writer, actor, and producer, and my objective is to create Birth Plays: new theatre productions centered on childbearing bodies and guided by the principles of reproductive justice as defined by SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective.

I am also a freelance academic editor, an endurance athlete, and aspiring educator who has enjoyed high-energy employment and volunteer work with children of all ages. Find my resume here

Interests (as a theatre maker):

Representations of childbirth and the childbearing body onstage. Public dreams, private myths. Holes in history. Shakespeare & heightened text. Intimacy direction. Elegant cacophonies  Staging the impossible. The tragic ingenue archetype. Dissecting whiteness as a method of anti-racist forward motion.

Words I cherish that have been used to describe my work:

Precision. Joy-giver. Avenging angel. Heart-first. Siren-voiced. Enchanting. A force, difficult to define and quantify. The magic was there.
